COACHING

Life-Coaching & Spiritual-Mentoring – Locally & Virtually

"Truly: God has prescribed excellence in everything."

(The Prophet Muhammad)

(God's peace & blessings upon him.)

Whereas the aim of counseling is healing, the aim of coaching is excelling in everything we do, to please God alone. You are ready to engage in this dynamic process of spirituality & practicality if you are determined to make the very most of the one precious life God has given you.

"The entire universe lies within.
Therefore, ask all of yourself."

Let the beauty we love be what we do.

There are hundreds of ways

  • Career Decisions for High-Schoolers— Deciding how we are going to earn our living is one of the most important decisions we must make in our life. Very often, young people have so little life-experience that they have no clue what they want to do, and their guidance counselors do not have the time or training to take them through a comprehensive process of self-exploration. The situation is further complicated if a young person aspires to live according to Abrahamic values, concerned as much about ethics as economics.  Likewise, if they are inclined toward work that is entrepreneurial instead of conventional. Furthermore, if they are a person of faith and want to go to college, they will have to contend with the strong anti-religious bias of most college campuses, and they and their parents will have to contend with huge expense.  As such, there are many reasons to make the best decisions at the beginning. If your teenager is struggling to figure this out, I’d be honored to help them like I’ve helped other young people over the years. Wise parents send their kids for coaching with me when they are in 10th or 11th grade.

  • Career Changes for Mid-Lifers — If you find yourself stuck in a job that is at odds with your values and don’t know how to get unstuck, please contact me. No doubt, making a change can be terrifying. But it is also exhilarating. One story. I had the great pleasure of coaching an extremely successful M.D. who was a partner in the biggest OBGYN medical practice in Connecticut. She wanted to leave because she was forced to rush patients in & out in 15 minutes for economic reasons. This was anathema to her, a woman of deep compassion & strong professional ethics. What she really wanted to do was live on a farm and make jewelry for a living. She succeeded. So can you.

  • Pre-Engagement Exploration-Evaluation — I offer this service in the Muslim community as a result of hearing about so many divorces, counseling young couples whose marriages are a disaster, and being asked by individuals to evaluate their own or their child’s prospective spouse. As in all matters of faith & practice, we are guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah. When we look closely, we see only LOVE.

“And among His signs is that He created for you, from yourselves, spouses, so that you may find tranquility in them, and He has created love and kindness between you. Surely in this there are signs for a people who reflect.”

(Qur’an 30:21)

PreEngagmentCouple_edited.jpg

My pre-engagement protocol includes six domains of exploration-evaluation:

1) Sacred Law
2) Religious Commitment

3) Cultural Customs
4) Temperamental Compatibility
5) Shared Vision
6) Harmony in Practical Matters
